When Strify, Luminor & Kiro were doing the webchat last week they also did an interview that is now online at www.eueovision.de Eurovision.de: How come it is that you take part at the Grand Prix?Strify: The request came by the NDR. We were then quickly clear that we want to participate. I find this very exciting, I grew up with the Grand Prix and so it's exciting times and also to look at behind the scenes. Luminor: It is a great honor for us that we do that. Many bands would be happy to participate, and we were asked. A class thing and it was clear that it was accepted. Eurovision.de: Are there any Grand Prix artists that particularly fascinate you or stayed in your head ? Strify: I viewed the Grand Prix for the first time in 1998. Guildo Horn addressed the younger audience, and I took notice for the first time of the Grand Prix. My father has always watched the Grand Prix. Therefore, I was raised with bands like Abba . But singers such as France Gall, I find great. Kiro: I found the year 2003 super, as tATu arose. Luminor: I find it fascinating today that Céline Dion began her career at the Grand Prix , when you consider what a huge career she's done after. Eurovision.de: What awaits us on 6 March on the stage? Strify: We will fall back again on a special film, we want to make our name and make great cinema. We look forward to the show, because the Schauspielhaus is a great location. Let me reveal only so much: The film was already in a Madonna video. Luminor: Yes, the place is very suitable for the performance. Eurovision.de: How you like the songs of your competitors and how do you see your chances? Luminor: There are some there that can please many people. But I think that we have a good chance because our song is a clear message that appeals to every human being . Strify: I like that every song is very different and represents something else. I think that all the cards are open. Everyone has a chance to win. "We do not want to copy"Eurovision.de: What would you say your style and your music? Kiro: It is difficult to describe because we have so many different influences. Strify: We are five strong characters in the band and we never wanted to reinvent music and never wanted to be in this or that genre, and say we want to do that exactly. Each of us listen to different music. We are strongly influenced, among other things, by New Wave bands like Depeche Mode. Luminor: If you look at our album sounds, there are also many different elements. There are many songs that are more into the rock area, there are songs that are rock and pop together - we have a diverse range of styles. Eurovision.de: Your style is often called neo-glam rock. Can you categorize as you and understands advancement of David Bowie and T-Rex? Luminor: To speak of us as a successor to David Bowie , of course, would be an absolute king's stroke. But we bring glamour back to the world, which is something that was lost in Germany. Some of our songs are going in the direction of glamrock. Eurovision.de: You are part of the Visual Kei-style and stamped in that style. Do you see yourselves as a voice of a youth movement? Strify: I never understood us as a mouthpiece of youth culture . We also don't want to call ourselves so strongly on the Visual Kei. That was the key reason for our style and how we have also met. This has, however, now been removed. We make a different music, we never wanted to copy, or be a German Visual-kei band. Eurovision.de: What elements of the Visual Kei is still important for you? Strify: In principle, it is only the exceptional styling. The Visual Kei is not limited to a certain music direction. This is not like punk that then represents a lifestyle. For us it is actually only the style factor which has stuck. "I was always androgynous"Eurovision.de: The Visual Kei is also about the abolition of borders and gender roles. How far did this factor and the issue of sexual orientation affect you? Luminor: The androgyny and the game with the sexes is always individual. I never decided to create an image for myself and to dress so, I was always androgynous. Strify: I am generally very happy to experiment, I like to try things out. Sometimes it happens that I go to the street and people say to me: You look so male today - I am again and again different. And it may also be that in two years, I no longer wear make-up.
